This is a lovely detailed egg.
It was designed & made by Stuart Devlin in 1982.
The exterior is heavily textured silver that has gilded.
Inside is a gilded silver weeping tree with exposed roots sitting on a green enamel base.
Hanging from the ends of the branches in groups of three, are small enamelled silver eggs that have been enamelled in red, blue, dark green & lime green.
On one side of the tree are a pair of stick people in gilded silver & on the opposite side to, the couple is a family group of 3 again in gilded silver gilt.
The egg is hallmarked by the London Assay office for silver & 1982 & bears the sponsor's mark "SD" for Stuart Devlin.
It is stamped "207" being its limited edition number.
It is presented in the usual red velvet & silk lined black box.
The interior of the lid is scripted signed "Stuart Devlin London" in gold.
There is a small gold booklet confirming that the piece is no. 207 of 300.
